Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Exemption
OklahomaExempts a 100% permanent service-connected disabled veteran from motor vehicle excise tax on one vehicle purchase per consecutive three-year period. Does not extend to surviving spouses.
How to claim it
Register in the Oklahoma Veterans Registry (registry.odva.ok.gov), which the statute requires, then present your 100% DAV exemption card or a VA award letter (raised seal) when titling or registering at Service Oklahoma. The veteran must be an owner on the title.
Confirmed against 68 O.S. Section 2105: a full excise-tax exemption for a veteran compensated at the 100% rate for a permanent service-connected disability who is registered in the ODVA veterans registry. Limited to one vehicle per consecutive three-year period (unless replacing a vehicle declared a total loss). Does not extend to surviving spouses.
Free Driver License & ID Card (issue + renewal)

Free Technology Center Tuition (Oklahoma veterans)

This covers career and technology education, not colleges or universities; fees are not included, and OSU Institute of Technology in Okmulgee is excluded. Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability (TDIU)
Federal VAPays compensation at the 100% rate to veterans who cannot maintain substantially gainful employment due to service-connected disability, even if their combined schedular rating is below 100%.

File VA Form 21-8940 (and 21-4192) at va.gov or with an accredited representative.

Concurrent Retirement & Disability Pay (CRDP)
Federal VAAllows eligible military retirees (20+ years) with a VA rating of 50% or higher to receive full military retired pay and VA disability compensation without offset.

Additional Compensation for Dependents

Confirm exempt status on the Certificate of Eligibility; a refund can be requested if the rating's effective date precedes loan closing.
Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E, Chapter 31)
Federal VAJob training, education, resume help and coaching, and (for the severely disabled) independent-living services for veterans with a service-connected disability. Basic eligibility needs a 10%+ service-connected rating (a 20% pre-discharge memorandum rating on active duty). A VR&E counselor determines an employment handicap; it is not required to apply.

Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant
Federal VAThe larger of the VA's two disability housing grants (SAH and SHA are separate programs). Helps build or modify a barrier-free home for veterans with certain severe permanent service-connected conditions (for example loss or loss of use of both legs, blindness combined with loss of use of a leg, or loss of use of both arms). Eligibility is based on qualifying conditions, not on a 100% or P&T rating. FY2026 maximum is up to $126,526.

Special Housing Adaptation (SHA) Grant
Federal VAThe smaller of the VA's two disability housing grants (a separate program from SAH). Eligibility is based on qualifying conditions, not on a 100% or P&T rating. FY2026 maximum is up to $25,350.

Automobile Allowance & Adaptive Equipment
Federal VAOne-time allowance toward a specially equipped vehicle and/or adaptive-equipment grants for veterans with qualifying service-connected conditions: loss/loss of use of a hand or foot, severe vision loss, or (equipment only) ankylosis of knee or hip.
How to claim it
File VA Form 21-4502 for the one-time automobile allowance, or VA Form 10-1394 for adaptive equipment only, at va.gov or a VA medical center.

Clothing Allowance

File VA Form 10-8678 with the prosthetic representative at your VA medical center (in person or by mail), or mail it to the VA Claims Intake Center, PO Box 4444, Janesville, WI 53547-4444. The annual deadline is August 1.

Federal VAIn-person and online shopping privileges at commissaries, military exchanges, and MWR facilities for any veteran with a VA-documented service-connected disability rating (0%-100%).
How to claim it
Show a Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC) marked 'SERVICE CONNECTED', or a VA eligibility letter plus a government photo ID, at point of sale.
